In typography class (my favorite!), I was tasked with setting a larger amount of type into a book-like piece in order to communicate the urgency of an issue. I decided to use my love for the risograph and the pocket-friendly nature of a zine to communicate the dangers of pesticides and non-organic food. The design, as well as the nature of the paper, printing method, and its interaction in space all inform how this zine would be encountered in the world. All drawings were illustrated by hand.
On another note, here was a typography exploration that prepared us for this project. These were hand-drawn, and truly made me appreciate the integrity of a font. It sparked my interest into type design.
