pompidou center

This project involved designing an infographic for a place or space. What inspired this design was a recent trip to Paris, France, where I visited the Centre Pompidou for the first time. Not only was I captured by the architecture, but also by the modern art museum inside. It was an incredible experience that I wanted to translate into a memorable design.

Here is a little bit of my process. First, I went to France. I thought this would be a nice place to add some pictures. This is the exterior and view from the complex.

Second, I jumped right in to design. While some designers prefer to extensive iterative drawings, I sometimes find my best ideas by just starting and doing. There are always bumps in the road, but I see design as an evolutionary process. Here are my first two iterations.

After a lot of feedback, specifically about how crowded it felt, I ended up with this final product. I was even critiqued and commended by the Dean of the College of Fine Arts. Click on the image to view a larger version.
