In February 2020, I began interning at a company called ShipStation, which is a web-based shipping software company that helps online retailers ship their products from multiple selling channels easily and efficiently. Though I was initially hesitant about the job because shipping isn’t all that glamorous (really, it’s not), I decided to try it out anyway, and boy am I glad I did.
I was hired as a Graphic Design Intern in the midst of a massive acqusition and rebranding effort, which presented a lot of challenges for me as a newbie, and my team. The majority of my work revolves around implementing our new brand and designing for all social channels, the ShipStation blog, and internal asks (like t-shirts, socks, coffee mugs, and more).
Here are some blog and webinar images I’ve worked on!
One of my big projects was overhauling our social media. Here are some mockups of the new style I established for our Instagrams (confusing, but I work for a portfolio of companies, not just ShipStation). I developed a lot (A LOT) of social media templates and developed a plan to support our social media coordinators with designing a feed that is cohesive.
Another great part about my internship is the ability to experiment with animation and how we are constantly encouraged to grow our own skills. Here is a recruiting graphic I developed that allowed me to play around with After Effects!
Here is a cool IG story series I worked on to help our followers understand what ShipStation does and the cool features of the software!
